when the trade name “Birrus” became well known in the aluminium and pneumatic
conveying industry the company changed its name to Birrus Engineering Pty Ltd.
The company became an Australian representative for of Alesa Engineering of
Switzerland.
The company was further re-structured in 2001 when the various activities of the
former enterprise were split and the Pneumatic Conveying division became Birrus

To support its larger operations in the aluminium industry within Australia and

TEST RIGS
An important part of Birrus pneumatic conveying technology is the existence of
their many test rigs, so that theories and predictions can be ratified in
conditions which can be controlled to closely resemble the customer’s
conditions. Birrus began using test rigs over 25 years ago, and today a
comprehensive set exists.
